How to help needs clarifying why…
Before answering question about how to help Matt Carroll and his wife Gini right now, it is important for people to really understand why it is so important to reach out the hand of friendship and faith to help this Sarasota couple meet or exceed their monthly bottom line while he’s waiting for a liver transplant.
This was Matt Carroll’s life before his life-threatening illness hit…

This was Matt Carroll then… If you met him at age 18 back in the day, he was a healthy and lively punk rock guitar player.
This is Matt Carroll’s daily life now…

Now that he’s reaching his 40s, Matt Carroll spends most of his time in and out of the hospital simply trying to survive another day.
Help improve Matt’s quality of life…
Due to the loss of Matt’s gainful and steady employment along with accumulation of incredibly large medical bills over the last few years, life for the Carroll family has been tough. It is a daily struggle for the Carroll family just paying the minimum each month towards doctor’s bills so he can continue his care — and once those basic human needs are met, there is not much left over for the family members to share.
The Carrolls have to struggle financially to meet all their daily living needs since he got sick. With cost of living increases and limited earning potential in a recession economy, Matt and Gini are perpetually finding themselves falling behind on utility expense bills and their mortgage.
Buying things like food or a tank of gasoline for the car has become a luxury for them.
That’s why they were chosen to be the beneficiaries of the 2012 Power of Soul fund raiser — to help provide them some relief financially and emotionally while he continues care.
It has taken a great toll on them (to suffer through this medical crisis without much community or family financial assistance) yet they have persevered. They never wanted to ask anyone for help but their situation has gone far beyond anything they could of ever imagined.
Gini is working as many hours as she can while Matt faces more difficult challenges than her. His daily struggle of monitoring his health has actually become a full time job for him.
Matt Carroll fights and uphill battle each and every day just to remain alive in this world — ultimately so he can be with his girl.
The more money and tangible good you can spare to help the family, the better.
Whether you are willing to loan the family a car, to help them make their mortgage payment this month, or can donate a can of healthy soup, they desperately need your help and support.
Keep Matt Carroll and his wife in your prayers…

Help keep hope alive for Matt and Gini Carroll by keeping the family in your prayers and donating whatever money, food, or medical supply items you can over time.
Matt has home health care nurses visit a few times a week for regular checkups. He must give himself IV antibiotics twice a day at home and monitor his blood sugar levels constantly because he has developed diabetes due to his failing health.
Yet through it all, Matt has the spirit of a fighter and is determined that he will get his liver and he will start his life a new with a second chance given to as he puts “by the grace of God.”
God and good will prayers for grace, ease, and a successful liver transplant surgery are what is desperately needed in this situation for sure.
They are a very proud couple and have weathered this storm together, but they can only do so much alone…
